Nine fastener material families
From stainless and carbon steel to duplex, nickel alloys and titanium.

Stainless Steel
Chromium-bearing steels with at least 10.5% Cr that form a passive oxide film. Austenitic grades…

Carbon Steel
Low and medium carbon steels used for general engineering, structural and machinery fasteners…

Alloy Steel
Chromium-molybdenum and related alloy steels, quenched and tempered for high strength and for…

Duplex Steel
Ferritic-austenitic stainless steels with roughly equal phase balance, giving about twice the yield…

Super Duplex Steel
Highly alloyed duplex stainless steels (PREN above 40) for severe chloride and sour environments…

Nickel Alloys
Corrosion and heat resistant alloy families including Inconel, Incoloy, Monel and Hastelloy…

Brass
Copper-zinc alloys with good machinability, electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance in…

Titanium
High strength-to-weight ratio and outstanding resistance to seawater and oxidising chemicals; used…

High Tensile
Medium carbon and alloy steels quenched and tempered to property classes 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9 or…

A2 / A4 stainless fasteners
Chromium-bearing steels with at least 10.5% Cr that form a passive oxide film. Austenitic grades (304, 316) are the most widely specified fastener stainless steels; martensitic 410 is hardenable.
Finishes selected to suit the service
Plating, galvanizing, black oxide, passivation or a customer-specified treatment is selected to suit the material and the environment the fastener will see.

From raw material to dispatch
Typical process route for a fastener (general information; the actual route depends on size, material and order).
- Raw material selection and verification
- Cutting to blank length
- Heading or forging
- Thread rolling or cutting
- Heat treatment where the grade requires it
- Surface treatment
- Inspection and testing
- Marking and packing
